Updates on Siba’s Preparations and Response to COVID-19
The health and safety of our students, faculty and staff is a top priority at Siba. We continue to closely monitor the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and are making adjustments to our operations as needed. Our leadership team is following guidance from local health authorities as well as those from the CDC.
As the situation surrounding the coronavirus evolves, Siba will continue to review the input of health agencies, local governments and city officials before making any further decisions about campus closures, online learning and student services.
Continued Academic Learning
Our Fall 1 academic term started on August 3, and we are offering a hybrid of both online and on-campus classes. In-person classes are meeting on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays, while online classes are still being offered Mondays-Thursdays. We are practicing the following recommended COVID-19 protocols while on campus: advising all faculty staff and students to maintain at least 6 feet of distance from others, enrolling no more than 14 students per class, sanitizing work stations regularly, and requiring all to wear masks that cover the nose and mouth. There are also established protocols of what to do if a student/faculty/staff tests positive for COVID-19 and/or when someone is experiencing symptoms or has been exposed to someone with a confirmed case of COVID-19.
Siba’s campus is currently open Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Tuesdays from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. All students are welcome to use our libraries and technology (computers/printers/copiers) during those hours. You may contact the school by calling (314) 421-0949 during the above hours of operation, or feel free to email any questions to firstname.lastname@example.org.
During this unprecedented time, the faculty at Siba is going to extraordinary lengths to ensure that online learning delivers the best possible educational experience, replicating the individual attention and expert instruction that has helped our students since 1947.
A Note from Our President
Dear Siba Students and Prospective Students,
Welcome to our Siba web page. We very are glad you are interested in learning more about our programs, even during these extraordinary times!
After two terms of being exclusively online in response to COVID-19, this term (Fall 1) we are teaching about 1/3 of our classes on campus and 2/3 are being taught virtually/online. All on-campus classes are scheduled for Tuesdays and/or Thursdays, which will allow us to implement increased sanitation measures, when necessary, for a full day in between class meetings. This plan also allows us to keep our campus population density lower, while giving students the option of attending all of their classes in the online format, or taking some on campus and some online.
Unless the COVID-19 situation changes significantly, we plan on implementing the same hybrid class schedule for the Fall 2 term, which starts on October 12, 2020.
If you are looking for more information about enrolling in our Fall 2 term, or have some questions about our programs, campus, cost, financial aid, etc., we are here to help you with that! In fact, that is exactly what we are all about at Siba—helping our students navigate their way to earning a degree no matter what challenges present themselves along the way.
Please send us a note about what is on your mind and we will be happy to answer all questions you have, both now and in the future. We look forward to meeting you!
Cindy Musterman, President
